Purification tubes are generally made of metal and organic glass materials. When using organic glass, attention should be paid to the permeation of oxygen and water in the air. When using organic glass for purification pipes, the purified outlet gas contains approximately 0.5 μ l/L of oxygen and water. The inlet and outlet of the purification pipe must be blocked with glass wool or sintered stainless steel to prevent the powder of the purification agent from blowing into the gas path system of the gas chromatograph, which may damage the performance of the valve and chromatographic performance. The adsorbents (silica gel, molecular sieve, activated carbon) and catalysts (deoxidizers) used in the purification tube must be activated before use, and can be reused after deactivation. The activation of the catalyst must be carried out using specialized equipment and can generally be sent back to the manufacturer for regeneration.
